Huge Peyote Cluster This small, round cactus with fuzz (no spines) hardly rises an inch above the soilês surface when growing, with the largest part being underground (like a carrot). The part that you do see above ground are called peyote buttons and these are what people covet, as they are generally consumed either fresh or dried. Why eat this cactus? They are regular Lophophora williamsii plants but differ in the fact that they sprout alot. You can form very big clusters over time.
